Clinton Thompson services held

Funeral services for Clinton Ray Thompson, 34, Mtn View, were 1 pm today, Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Yarber Mortuary, Mtn. View, with Father Cyprian officiating.
Mr Thompson died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, in Linden. He was born Nov. 12, 1964, in Houston, Mo, the son of Charles Clinton Thompson and Cheryl Lee Collins.
He attended school in Mtn. View and graduated from Liberty High School in May 1983.
On Dec. 31, 1983, he was married to Maureen Marcia Conley at St John Vianney Catholic Church.
Mr Thompson joined the US Army on Sept 4, 1983. He served nine years active duty in the US Army, after which he joined the Missouri National Guard. He graduated at the top of his class during field training and in the top of his class in AIT. He was a veteran of Desert Storm where he received a Bronze Star. He also was recognized for many other achievements in the US Army, too numerous to list.
He was currently employed by the Missouri Army National Guard AVDRAD in Springfield, where he was an aircraft ordnance systems mechanic.
He was a very caring and loving husband. He loved children and had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews. His great personality and jokes touched everyone. Some of his many talents included playing the saxophone and singing, and he enjoyed playing softball and golf. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen Thompson, Mtn View; his father, Charles Thompson, Mtn View; his mother, Cheryl Collins, Hartshorn; and one sister, Celena Olivia Reeves, Mtn View.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grace and Thomas Thompson, Bertha Collins, and K P Ellis.
Burial was in Veterans Cemetery in Mtn View under the direction of Yarber Mortuary.
