   Claudie Elva May, son of the late Jess and Melissa Ellen Fox May, was born April 24, 1913 at Crider, Missouri.  He entered into eternal rest June 24, 1993 at the age of eighty years.
   He received his education at the Lone Pilgrim School and on July 28, 1935 was married at Elijah, Missouri to Martha Lorene Moss.
   Mr. May had milled lumber for Cloud Oak Flooring, was a woodworker, craftsman and a farmer.  He was a bluegrass musician, played the fiddle, and had been song leader at the Gospel Hill Church having sung at many funerals and singings.  Mr. May was a man that was well liked by everyone.
   He is survived by his wife, Lorene May, of the family home; six children, Jackie Lamb Kreger and husband, Earl, West Plains, Missouri, Eva Garner and husband, Ed, Newport News, Virginia, Elwood May and wife, Mary, West plains, Missouri, Orbie May and wife, Wilma, West Plains, Missouri, Dorman May and wife, Joyce, Pottersville, Missouri and Palmer and Linda May, Springfield, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters-in-law, Sarah May, Hminy, Oklahoma and Nadine May, West Plains, Missouri;  and several nieces and nephews.
   Mr. May is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Clarsie May, Clara Scantlin, Clora Collins, Clella Hudlow and Cecil Johnston, three brothers, Clarence "Bud" May, Cephia May and Clyde May, and two grandchildren, Lisa Ann May and Robbie Laxton.
  He was of the Church of Christ faith and was a life long member of the Gospel Hill Church of Christ.
