Caldwell - Clarence Collins, 73, of 811 Belmont St., Caldwell, died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 21, 1893, in Hal County, Mo.
He grew up in Missouri and married Bessie Collins in July, 1915. They lived in Missouri until 1944 when they moved to Washington. He later retired and moved to Caldwell where they had since resided. Mrs. Collins died in September of 1959, and a son, Plez, died in 1961.
He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Caldwell, Mrs. Edna Conley of Singer, Calif., Mrs. Lena Yates of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Beulah Salisbury of Vacaville, Calif., and Mrs. Donnis Anderson, also of Vacaville; two sons, Fred Collins of Roseville, Calif. and Carl Collins of Roseburg, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Janie Ellison of West Plains, Mo.; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Peckham-Dakan chapel, with the Rev. M.E. Wiggins of the Caldwell Foursquare Gospel Church officiating. Interment will be at Canyon Hill.
