Calvin Thompson Funeral Thursday
Funeral services for Calvin Thompson, 79, West Plains will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.
Mr Thompson, a life long resident of West Plains, died at 4:50 am yesterday at his home. He was born near West Plains, Mo., January 11, 1894, the son of the late Perry and Lavina Thompson.
He had spent his entire life in this area and at various times had been employed with the Frisco Railroad on the section crew, with the city light department and as a sawmiller. On April 15, 1913, he was married at West Plains to Anna Johnson who preceded him in death November 11, 1944. Mr Thompson has been a member of the Pentecostal Church for the last 60 years.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include five children and one stepdaughter, Lonzo Thompson, West Plains, Mo.; Fonnie Thompson, Caldwell, Idaho; Dorothy Driskell, Lavina Poe, both of Tarkio, Mo.; Lawrence Thompson, West Plains, Mo.; Lougena Collins, Wyoming, Iowa; 38 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and one brother, Dee Thompson, Joplin, Mo.
Interment will be beside his wife in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, Mo.
