   ELMER CABEEN, 81, DIES.
   Thomas Elmer Cabeen, 81, a life resident of the Sumbeam community in Ohio Grove township died at 9:40 o'clock Tuesday night in the Mercer County Hospital where he was taken for treatment two hours earlier.  He had been in failing health the past two years.
   Mr. Cabeen was born July 24, 1870 on the farm where he spent all of his life.  His parents Richard B. and Jane Pinkerton Cabeen reared their family of five daughters and three sons there.  His father came to Mercer County with his parents in 1836.
   Mr. Cabeen was married March 29, 1905, to Miss Catherine Saunders, who survives him with a son and daughter, Hugh of Aledo and Mrs. Everett Giffin, who resided with her parents; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother Richard Finis Cabeen near Aledo.
   Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Sunbeam United Presbyterian church in which he served as an elder for 40 years.  The Rev. Harold Jensen will conduct the services.  Burial will be in the family lot in Candor cemetery.

   LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. CATHERINE CABEEN.
   Funeral Services for Mrs. Catherine Cabeen, 77, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the United Presbyterian church at Sunbeam with the minister Rev. H.F. Jensen officiating.  Ralph Gilmore was in charge of the song service.
   Interment was in the family lot in Candor cemtery.  Pallbearers were Beard McCreight, John Pinkerton, Clarence Shoemaker, Frank McClelland, Dick Edwards and Felix Brown.
   Mrs. CAbeen died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27 in the Mercer County Hospital at Aledo where she had been a patient three weeks.
   She was born in the area that is now Seaton, November 8, 1875, a daughter of James H. and Isabelle Ditto Saunders and spent most of her life in the Sunbeam community in Ohio Grove township.
   She was married March 20, 1905, to Thomas Elmer Cabeen, an Aledo businessman, and Mrs. Ruth Cabeen Giffin, who resided with her mother.  There are also four grandchildren and three sisters and a brother.  The sisters are Mrs. Roy Harrison of Seaton, Mrs. Arthur Lee of Silvis and Mrs. Maude Scott of Moline and the brother is Tom Saunders of Oak Park.
   A sister Mrs. Clyde McIntyre, her husband and an infant son preceded her in death.
