| West Plains Daily Quill Irene Collins services Thursday Funeral services for Irene Collins, 74, West Plains, will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 1999, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. Mrs. Collins died at 1:50 p.m. Monday, June 14, 1999, at her home. She was born Dec. 10, 1924, at Grimmett, the daughter of Hugh Benton and Georgia Ann Hopkins Cunningham. She received her education at Hopkins School, and on Oct. 11, 1941, was married at West Plains to Sterling Neal Collins. Before her retirement, Mrs. Collins had worked for Murrell's Cleaners as a seamstress for 23 years. She was a squilter and enjoyed reading. She was a member of Union Grove Church and was active in singing. Survivors include her husband, Sterling Collins of the family home; five children, Edgar Collins and wife, Kay, Beverly Hammond and husband, Jim, Randy Collins and wife, Kathy, Anita Collins, and Kathy Franks and husband, Doyle, all of West Plains; 11 grandchildren, Coyeatte Ewing, and husband, Jon, and Christopher Roberts and wife, Chrysa, all of Springfield, Meshell Fox, Austin, Texas, Shane Collins, Kansas City, Dwayne Hammond and wife, Michelle, Williford, Ark., Mark Hammond and wife, Karen, Koshkonong, Tara Collins and husband Brandon, Randa Franks, Michael Roberts, Patrick Roberts and Tina Collins, all of West Plains; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee Cunningham, Mtn. View, Carl Cunningham, state of Idaho; four sisters, Violet Reed, West Plains, Lorene Johnson, Greeley, Colo., Becky Royer, state of California, and Virginia Ingold, Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Virgil Lee Collins; four sisters, Fern Wood, Alice House, Mable Cunningham and Ruby Cunningham; and one brother, Lloyd Cunningham. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. |
