Bert Collins funeral Tuesday
Graveside services for Bert Collins, 81, West Plains, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Old Horton Cemetery with the Reverends CArl Lugwick and Jess Walker officiating.
Mr. Collins died at 3:30 a.m. today in the ozark Nursing Center in West Plains. He was born Aug. 28, 1902, in Howell Co., the son of the late Eck and Easter Collins.
He was married Sept. 8, 1922 at West Plains to Dovie Collins, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1972. He was married Oct. 8, 1974 at Gainesville to Burnice Turnbull who survives Mr. Collins in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Burnice Collins, West Plains; nine children, Marie Crisp, Gainesville, Ruby Turnbull, Vanzant, Maxine Madden, Willow Springs, Sybil Heavener, Caulfield, Wilbert Collins, Guy Collins, Otis Collins, and Sid Collins, ass of West Plains; two sisters, Delphia Guiles of West Plains and Evie Plier; three stepchildren, Wayne Turnbull, Springdale, Ark., Elvin Turnbull and Ralph Turnbull, both of Vanzant; 43 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, three sisters and two brothers.
