Ava Smith
Funeral services for Ava Smith, 93, of Brixey were held Friday, May 25, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home with Bernie Crum and Roy Harris officiating. Burial was in Bushong Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Gainesville Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1907, at Blanche, the daughter of George and Naomi (Blane) Parsons. She married Lawrence Smith Feb. 19, 1928, in Ozark County near Bryant Creek.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Gayle Hughes and her husband, Rick, of Farmington and Ida Jane Lee and her husband, Harold, of Brixey; and one son, Ron Parsons and his wife, Margaret, of Round Rock, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers, Floyd, Cloyd, Roy, Earl and Eugene; and four sisters, Imogene, Linnie, Della and Bessie.
Pallbearers were Tony Thomas, Jim Thomas, Gary Akers, LeRoy McCall, Greg Rader and Eddie Cross.
