| In Memory of Minda (Luna) Smith Born: December 7, 1900, Dora, Missouri Died: August 19, 1976, Columbia, Missouri Services: Sunday, August 22, 1976 - 2 p.m., Carter Chapel, West Plains, Missouri Minister: Evangelist Neale Phipps Pallbearers: John Roberts Eddie Owens Cecil Nash Remal Jones Elmer Russell James Sharp Minda (Luna) Smith, daughter of the late James E. and Doskie Moffis Collins, was born december 7, 1900 at Dora, Missouri and departed this life August 19, 1976 in the Ellis Fischel Hospital, Columbia, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 12 days. She was married december 8, 1918 at Dora, Missouri to James Homer Luna, who preceded her in death September 13, 1949. To this union three children were born. On september 12, 1963 she was married at Salem, Missouri to Virgil M. Smith, who preceded her in death May 22, 1974. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Eatho Ousley, Dora, Missouri, Kenneth Luna and Mrs. Yvonne Joplin of Dono Arkansas: four stepchildren, Wayne R. Smith, Brumley, Missouri, Cecil Smith, Holyoke, Colorado, Mrs. Ruth Grishkat, Jefferson City, Missouri, and David Smith, Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Luna, Dora, Missouri and Mrs. Bessie Thompson, West Plains, Missouri; two brothers, Jesse Collins, Seattle, Washington and Donald Collins, West Plains, Missouri; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and a ho of relatives and friends. Her parents, husbands, and two sisters, Agnes and Lucy, preceded her in death. She had been a member of the Church of Christ since early life, her membership being for the past few years with the West 160 Church of Christ. |
