Arlin Collins services Wednesday

Funeral services for Arlin Roe Collins, 83, West Plains, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, with the Revs. Fred Hamby and Stasey Sheppard officiating.
Mr. Collins died 8:28 a.m. Sunday, Feb 9, 2003, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. He was born Nov. 24, 1919, at Hebron, the son of Ernest and Alice Ecton Collins, and was raised by his grandparents, Henry and Essie Ecton.
On Nov. 20, 1948, he was married at West Plains to Lola Thompson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Before his retirement, Mr. Collins had been employed by the U.S. Forest Service for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Collins, of the family home; five children, Ann Smith and husband, Don, and Stanley Collins and wife, Beverly, all of Vanzant, Jearld Collins and wife, Vivan, and Diana Carter and husband, Larry, all of West Plains, and David Collins and wife, Deann, Dora; 12 grandchildren; Deanna Hewett, Darla Gregory, Valerie Dunbar, Debbie Strong, Andrea Scherff, Angie Falwell, Jared Collins, Kevin Collins, Kim Collins, Stephanie Minge, Weston Carter and Joey Collins; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gwendolyn Brotherton and husband Bill, Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his grandparents; his parents; one grandson, Keith Collins; four brothers; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 2 p.m. today until service time. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. today.
Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites provided by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program and Veterans Honor Guard of West Plains.
