| Dr. George Oldfield, a southern Californian and retired Research Entomologist, has whistled since his pre-school years and was known as "The Whistler" among his high school friends. From a family of excellent melodic whistlers, George remembers first hearing his older brother whistle popular songs in the 1940's, then whistled with his younger sister during early years. He waited until his retirement and the dawn of the third millennium to begin performing publicly. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| George was a finalist at the 32nd International Whistlers Convention in Louisburg, North Carolina, held annually in April, and attended by whistlers from USA, Canada, Japan, China, the Netherlands, and Germany. Much to the delight of "Grandpa Whistle" three of his grandsons are already whistling as preschoolers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| George has whistled for service clubs, schools, senior citizen groups, fraternal organizations, and he whistled by invitation at "Puckerama" in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is available to share his whistling talent at weddings, memorial services, anniversaries, Quincieneras, etc. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
