Rev. Jesse Baxter and Lucretia Caroline Houk
Caroline was Jesse's third wife.

Jesse was born Feb. 11, 1826 in Cocke County,
Cosby, Tennessee.
He was the son of James Baxter and Rhoda Giles.
Jesse died June 9, 1885. He is buried in the
Matthews/Baxter Cemetery, Rocky Flats,
Sevier County, Tennessee.
Jesse was married three times. 1-Mary Ann Norton,
2- Sarah "Sally" Matthews, 3- Lucretia Caroline Houk.

Elizabeth Jane Proffitt Baxter

Born May 25, 1855 in Monroe County, Tennessee.
She was the daughter of Wm Jackson Proffitt
and Mary Jane Glaze.
Died 1940 in Cocke County, Cosby, Tennessee.
Buried in Caton's Grove Cry.

Elizabeth was the wife of William Holloway Baxter.
