Rev. James Preston Baxter

James P. Baxter, son of Rev. Jesse Baxter
& Sarah "Sally" Matthews.

James P. was born Aug. 2, 1864 at Cosby, TN. Died April 5, 1932. He married Mary Florence Canupp, Feb. 18, 1891

James Preston was one of triplets. The first was born dead,
then James was born. Sarah died before the third baby was born.

William Baxter and wife Elizabeth Matthews Baxter took James in
and raised him with their son, Holloway C. of near James's age.

Unknown girl and Mary F. Canupp Baxter
Most likely the girl is one of the seven daughters
of James P. and Mary.

Lewis and James P. were brothers. Lewis was two years older.
