Visual Pinball - Burrill "JB Wiz"

JB Wiz pinball playfield

About the game

I have loved playing pinball since I was 9, in 1977. My favorite games were Wizard, Capt. Fantastic, Star Trek, and Space Invaders.
In 1979, I made a cardboard pinball machine with styrofoam flippers. It was a pretty complex game for the time. Of course, in a short time of play, the cardboard sagged in the middle and the flippers broke. In the summer of 1980, I decided to make a pinball game from durable materials. I decided to keep it real simple. I called it "JB Wiz".
In the year that followed, I created about 10 games, each more and more complex, mirroring the industry trend at the time. Also mirroring the industry, I only made 3 games in 1982 and 1983, as more time was spent on Pac-Man, and as the pinball machines I made took a lot of space. In 1984, I got a Vic-20, and my attention turned to creating video games. I bought "Pinball Builder", but was pretty disappointed in it. I did build one game on it, to my wife "Cindy". December, 1999: Created the first new pinball in 16+ years: Toy Story 2. I did it mostly because a 12-year old boy who likes pinball was visiting me for 2 weeks, and it was something we could do together. How amazed I was to find Visual Pinball by Randy Davis. Now I have spent all of my free time playing Fish Frenzy, Eight Ball Deluxe, and recapturing 1980, when I made "JB Wiz"
