Come and learn about living and weaving among the nomadic peoples in today’s Iran. Your tour guide is Dr. Douglas Lay, who has visited Iran sixteen times.

Fluent in Farsi and it’s dialects, Dr. Lay is a veteran academician who owns The Persian Carpet in Durham, North Carolina. He will show you in slides and words how Persian Nomads' lives and society are reflected in the weavings they produce.
Show & Tell:
Please bring one or two examples of your most precious Persian Nomadic rugs (No City rugs, just village rugs!).
