The
house was acquired for the KHO by the founders John & Jamal in
September
1998 and was first occupied on the night of November 17, 1998
First

The
occupants on the first night were

the house was given its name "The Kerobokan Home Office"
No
particular reason just seemed to fit.
The
house was chosen after months of searching Bali for a suitable house
at
the right price. When we found the house we thought it just perfect and
suitable
to
renovate. However we could not buy it unless there was a good restaurant
near
by. That evening we went in search and found Purnama restaurant just down
the
road. Run by Melody and her Balinese husband Wayan.
The
food was excellent so we bought the house.

Renovations
were commenced in December 1998 after employing
a
builder Pak Made, from the northern Bali city of Singaraja.

The
renovations commence

First
renovation was to make a sun deck at the back of the house.
This
involved building a slab casting cement stairs and
adding
a balustrade all around.

House
guests often enjoy a whisky at sunset time, while it is an
excellent
area for drying the washing.
