the Indonesian legislature, the DPR elected to call a special meeting of
the MPR, the supreme legislature for August 1 to impeach President Abdurrahman
Wahid. The President will be called to deliver an |

speech on the progress of his government, the MPR will then vote to accept
or reject his speech. If rejected the MPR will impeach the president forcing
him to step down. opening the way to elect a new President. |

flew to Surabaya to visit friends Andi & Yong Fu. As usual we stayed
at the lux Semut Kali Hotel where we met up with our friends Hamid and
Harim. |

in-law treated us to a chinese banquet at their restaurant in central Surabaya. |

We flew to Surabaya with Bouraq Indonesian
Airlines (45 mins) on their earlier model 737 - Super 200 and stayed
2 nights, the return fare to Surabaya from Bali is around $100 AUD. As
usual Yong Fu did a great job with the airline bookings.
