LINDSAY'S PLAN TO SAVE ANSETT
LOW SPEED, LOW FARES - YES!...Fox
LINDSAY FOX  has come up with a master plan that will make Ansett 2, the most profitable airline in the world. The old fox, has spent the last 2 weeks, 24 hours a day, going through all the aircraft service manuals in Ansett’s Melbourne Jet Base. Lin said, “I always did that when I bought a new truck, read the manual. Easy to read too, most of them were brand new and still in their plastic wrappers. Those engineers will never learn, you don't just give an oil change.”  Lin went on to say “I was interested to find the fuel consumption graphs, same you know, just like a truck, the faster you go the more fuel you burn. For years I had all my trucks only do 70kph, saved me a fortune. That's when I came up with the slogan "Your Passing Another FOX", worked a treat, because everyone had to pass us. They read it, great advertising!
As you can see by the graph if we fly the planes at 300 knots (B) instead of the usual 400 knots (B) we will have a whopping 70% saving in fuel, but only a 22% reduction in speed. This would only add another 9 minutes to a Sydney/ Melbourne flight. "Even a child could understand this" he concluded.

KHO FILM NIGHT
Sun Dec. 2 Was the inaugural Gala Film Night in the theatrette at the KHO.
We are indebted to Mr Ian Davey of Melbourne who donated a brand new VHS copy of the musical “SOUTH PACIFIC”. We presented the film on our Samsing 21” Tv, with sound through the Radio-gram. In attendance were a huge crowd of 17 people, who totally enjoyed the film. It was unfortunate that the chair Ines was sitting on collapsed, where was Andi?. Later we adjourned to Warung Sobat for an enjoyable meal.

We contacted Ines’s office but she declined to be interviewed. On the Sunday night a birthday party was held at Warung Sobat in Andi’s honour.

Monstrosity opposite the KHO Continued...
Last edition we told of the 2 story building that is going up in a great hurry opposite the KHO. We have made friends with the builders and have had many pleasant nights with them. Their past time is playing guitar and singing, Jamal and Dede join in. A party was given at the KHO to welcome them.

Yong Fu-Surabaya  I've been very busy with group booking, I've to finalize a lot of booking to Bali for this Lebaran & New year Chris -Bahrain, Just a message from Bahrainn, where we look at your letter and yearn for those hot humid days (instead of the hot humid days we have here!) Actually, I've just been down to Argentina for a quick two week holiday - down to Tierra Del Fuego, up the Andes onto a glacier and a great couple of weekends in steamy Buenos Aires. Life is sweet and hopefully we'll get over again to Bali sometime soon. In the meantime, keep up the good work, and all the best to you both. Sei-Japan Glad to hear from you and thank you for your care, just l wanna say hello and hope to hear from you again, Love, your boy Sei Denny-Melb Ian Harvey is staying Monday night. Bet you would never of thought of getting a  Liverpool Kiss from a hooligan in Indonesia.Toos-  Holland (travelling thru Australia)  I am stranded with my car on last monday here in Sidney, it broke down and it seems that the "motorblok" has several cracks in it. I have to sell it here in Sidney as soon as possible before it realy breaks down. I can collect my car tomorrow at the workshop and can drive with it but not for long anymore.Doug-S. America My recent purchase makes the third camera for the trip. The first camara had an electronic failure. Good bye camara number uno. The second was either lost or stolen. It was a $20 instamatic jobby. Good bye camera number dose. I was toying with the idea of buying another crappy instamatic when I came across the Beautiful second hand Zenit camara, from russia with love. Ian D-Melb This week end I am running "Along Came The Spider" with Morgan Freeman on DVD. A sellout again. Tommy Soeharto arrested
Tommy after arrest
(He doesn't look too worried!  Is that Bin Laden behind him?)
JAKARTA (JP): The fugitive son of former president Soeharto, Hutomo "Tommy" Mandala Putra, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in Bintaro, South Jakarta, a report said. Tommy has been at large since November last year after then president Abdurrahman Wahid rejected his request for presidential pardon. Previously, he was convicted by the Supreme Court to 18 months in jail over an unlawful land swap deal between the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) and his then wholesale firm PT Goro Batara Sakti. But a different team of justices exonerated him from all charges last month. (So why have they arrested him, one may ask, or did I miss something)
John will travel to Melbourne  Dec 20. he will return Dec 30.

HOWARD on ANSETT
JH Canberra: “Oh yes we are definitely going to help Ansett. We have already been a great help, we almost got rid of them, with that safety scare, then that truck driver came along. Him and his market share!, from Jan. 1 all employees of the Commonwealth government in Canberra must re-locate to Sydney. They will commute to work each day on Qantas flights. That will stuff the fox.”
JAMAL'S KITTENS DOING WELL
JUST OVER 3 months ago Jamal’s cat “Suzi” gave birth to 4 kittens, sadly 2 of them died, surviving are “Kiki” who lives at the KHO and “Humzah” named after the Indonesian Vice-President who now lives with Ines and Andi.

WEEKEND AT VILLA TENANG
FRIENDS Clive & Wendy from England kindly invited us all  to sample their new rental villas in Soca, West Bali. The party were Jamal, Ines, Andi, Dede & John.
Villas Tenang are very remote, you couldn’t wish for more if you want to get away from it all. Took us 1.5 hrs to get there, by car from the KHO. The country side is magnificent, there are undulating hills and high mountains in the background.
Villa Tenang
After cocktails, served by the very friendly staff, (Dewa & Made) we adjourned to the pool for a swim. We were served an excellent dinner of local seafood. Then out came the guitar. Jamal and Dede entertained, later owner Clive took over the guitar and showed us what an old rocker he really is. “Blue Swede Shoes”, “She’s 16”, “I saw her standing there” We had a great night. During the night Ines & Andi's bed collapsed. (Oh no not again!) Ines was so looking forward to a good nights sleep with no noise and ended up having a sleepless night on the floor. We had a great time and a nice break.
Our Villa
There are 3 villas, Villa 1 sleep 6, Villa 2&3, sleep 2. A great way to see a different side of Bali we highly recommend Villas Tenang. We wish Clive & Wendy every success. If you wish to know more, or make a booking, visit their web site.
