In May 2002, I purchased a printed copy of the register from the Hollywood Cemetery Company and noticed that in that version, changes had been penned into some of the entries. In building the data base, I have elected to include the original entries, but I have added a column "Editorial notes" where I point out these changes. None of the pen changes are attributed and their accuracy is unknown to me. However, they should by no means be discounted. For example, the unit of Col B. T. Brockman was not shown in my photocopy, but was penned in to be Company B, 13th South Carolina Regiment in the later, printed copy. This likely points the way to an officer who fought at Gettysburg, Chancellorsville, and the Wilderness. |
