The Great New Jersey Jaunt
Updated 8/9/99

There's nothing quite like a sunrise over the New Jersey shore.
There are plenty of things to keep a little guy occupied in Bay Head  - like watching the ships go out to sea.
Needless to say, everyone likes going to the beach.
Of course, the beach can be even better if someone carries you across the hot sand down to the water.
It's a real treat when there are lots of relatives there to share the experience.
.
For some of us, though, the waves can look mighty intimidating.
But when Mom & Dad hold on to your hands, those waves don't seem quite as scary.
No trip to the beach is complete without a bucket, shovel, and mountains of sand.
Sometimes that task of moving the sand can be so daunting that you just have to sit down and contemplate why you started in the first place.
All that hard work can give a fella a big appetite.  There's no better way to take care of that in Bay Head than with a trip to Mueller's bakery.
Now the occasion for this particular trip to New Jersey was the Foster Family Reunion.  Here are some of the descendants of Charles Foster gathered in front of 501 Lake.  Hey, didn't we see their photos down at the Post Office?
During the reunion, there was time for fun activities - like a game of badminton....
.....showing dad the ropes at the playground.....
....and playing on the swings.
All that activity took it's toll on some of the attendees.
Every reunion must have some group photos.  Notice how everyone is paying close attention to the instructions being given by the photographer's assistant.
Somehow, though, the beach seemed to be a regular meeting place.
Yep, there's just something about being near the ocean that can give you goose bumps.
