Why does youth reflect beauty to our eyes?
We live in a reality that seeks beauty and youth. Often the natural world is ignored or adjusted to support our reality. My interest is to explore contemporary male images that challenge our 20th Century view of the male nude.
When our body is stripped of clothes, nude and on display for anyone to see, of nature or above the natural world? Are we taking pleasure from the erotic sexual tease that is present, or from the play of light and shadow, line and form, and color?
I have chosen images that reflect the male body as objects of beauty. As we enter the 21 Century, why is beauty important? And is youth still the measure of beauty? |
