I have meet some really good people while serving in Iraq. Some of those will be my friends for the rest of my life. I am glad to be home. I have done my agreed time and now I am home and begining a life after Iraq.
I did not what to do when I got home. I took a leave of absents to come here and help the cause. I wanted to help with the war effort. 911 made me sick as it did most other American's. I choose to do something about it and came to Iraq. I maybe crazy, but one has to stand for something or one stands for nothing. I also could not see us asking our young men and women to do something we would not do. There-fore I went to Iraq.
I can not say it has been easy over here. It is hot, very hot, and the trucks we drive on the outside the wire either had no armor or no a/c. They have began to install A/C in all the truck now. That did not help last summer when there was none and one could cook an egg inside the cab of those trucks during the day. It was 130 plus degrees and one could get out of one of those trucks and at first would get a chill due to the change of tempature, it was that much cooler at 130 degree on the outside than the tempature on the inside of those trucks. I got sick several times. One has to do what one must; I lost 40lbs the first four months in country and I was eating 5 times a day. One must drink a lot of water and eat often to servive in this heat. The water is to keep cool and the food is to keep from getting water poisoning.
I have  made my year. Hurray, I am home.
I went home for several weeks and it was great to see my family. My sister Jane had a birthday while I was there and we had a party for her.
I Love my family and am glad to be with them so very much.
I hated going home in some ways and couldn't wait to get there in others. I feel somewhat as I was deserting my friends here and we still had things to do. I have come home and I will try to forget all that I have seen, heard and felt while here.
I arrived home in the Georgia August 5, at 2355hours
