Even with the absence of Scott H. and Jeremy G. on the inside for Highland Groves, they were able to win this game. The game may have been different if Andrew L. hadn’t fouled out. He could have made a difference in this game late, but instead Highland Groves pulled away.
Highland Ranch came out a little slow again in this one, but ended up sealing the deal. They took off and Boulder Creek could never catch up. Boulder Creek had several absences on their team, and their final point total may have been different if they were playing.
This ended in a tight one. Eastridge trailed by multiple baskets with the clock winding down. Then, Blake D. caught fire from beyond the three point arc, and he pulled Eastridge all the way to within one point of tying the game. Then, Eastridge had a shot to win it with a three, but they missed, falling just short. But what a great effort and great game by both teams.
Monterey 57 Meadows 55
This was an outstanding finish to a game. It was tight and the game was tied. With twenty seconds left, Monterey brought the ball up and the ball was put into Trent Lewis’ hands. He went baseline, pulled up and shot at the buzzer, the ball hit the rim and went in! Trent Lewis hit the buzzer beater to defeat Meadows. This win is a huge statement for Monterey. They have solidified themselves as a top 4 team, and are showing that belong among the elite teams in the league this year. They are for real. They belong with the top teams in this league. This game proves that. Meadows, a team that went undefeated in the regular season last year, now has 3 losses and sits below .500 at 2-3. Great game.
