About the Webmaster
John has been a member of the NIH R&W Camera Club since 1972 and holds its achievement award of Master-of-Photography. For five years, he taught a variety of advanced photography courses as part of the curriculum of the Foundation for Advancement in Science. He also operated a wedding photography and portraiture business for seven years; his portraits hang in some of the Washington area's fine homes. He has led over 25 photographic excursions to international sites such as Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Mexico I, II, III, Norway, Turkey and Thailand. In the USA, his photo trips have included many of America’s National Parks in all seasons.  Each trip is an opportunity for fellow photographers to do architectural, people, landscape and/or wildlife photography. After each trip, he designs and computer-prints booklets composed of the best photographs of the participants. His own personal travels have taken him to every continent.

John is a popular speaker at area camera clubs and has addressed topics such as nature, bird photography, travel photography, composition & exposure, special techniques, experimental manipulation, and portraiture.
