A Special Thanks for Freedom

Many thanks are in order to men like you,
And also to the wives whom they are married to.

Thank you for the heritage you've tried so hard to pass along,
For if our youth could just embrace it, they would surely do less wrong.

In obedience to your parents, you learned discipline and respect,
And you took that to the battlefields - our freedom to protect.

On those violent, bloody fields, you offered your lives for ours,
That's why each Memorial Day we honor those who gave all with flowers.

Some of you that made it home to us, were disabled for the rest of your life,
Four years of war had become to you a lifetime of misery and strife.

And now we give a special thanks to those upon returning,
They had not finished their self-giving, to do GOD's will was their yearning.

These men who had offered their lives already, were offerIng once again!
Surrendering their lives to the ministry of CHRIST, preachIng GOD's WORD, AMEN!

But the greatest of our thanksgiving belongs to the One True Living GOD above.
Though His Power and Grace HE gave us to partake of HIS Creation of earth,
And JESUS Blood that was given in love.

This special thanks is dedicated to my father-in-law Dinzel Leonard,
preacher and decorated World War II veteran; and to all ministers who
have served our country in the protection of our freedom.
