| Brad and Jen's journal entry for: |
| June 13, 2001 Today is our last day of work and official first day of summer. We are both working summer part-time jobs to earn more money, but as of right now we are walking away from our "career" worlds and into the world of the adventurer. Although it is exciting, there is still a little anxiety about how everything will work out in the end. You know the "shoulds". All of those things that keep you from following your dream. I am learning how to work this website. It is really very easy, and I hope it is informative for you. I have had fun following several travelers on the web over the past year. Yesterday we secured a storage locker. We saw a damp unit, but were able to find a new building that seems real dry. We feel most of our stuff should be fine. Some of the more important stuff is going to our very kind and generous parents. We also checked out digital cameras. We are going to have to buy one that utilizes a disk storage system so that we can more easily load pictures via the cyber cafes. Also, we imagine the camera will take a bit of a beating, so now is not the time to invest in an expensive one. We leave on September 5, 2001. We have the rest of the summer to get ready, although it feels like it is going to go very fast. I almost forgot, we got $560.00 worth of shots yesterday...our shoulders are bit sore. The shots included: Hepatitus A, Japanese Encephalitis, and 2 others, plus 6 different prescriptions. We are using Dr. Forgey out of Merrilville, Indiana. He is a leading Wilderness and Travel medicine doctor (He gave us two of his books!). We highly reccomend his information and him. Peace, Brad and Jennifer Back to home page Back to June page |
