Cacti-03.jpg
This image looks too dark on my low-res monitor, but maybe you can see it better on yours. It's a picture of a field (a very flat field) full of cacti. As far as the eye can see (and out here, that's pretty far!), nothing but cacti. Or so I thought. To get this picture, I pulled off the highway onto a private road leading out into the desert. There was a fence, and a cattle guard with a gate. Being the cautious person that I am, and fearing snakes of any kind, and rattlesnakes (which are abundant in this area) in particular. I looked and listened very well for any unusual snake-like objects on the ground, or under the cattle guard. Well, I must not have very good eyesight, or God is just too good at camoflage, because after I took this picture, I heard somethiing move on the ground about three feet to my left. I slowly lowered the camera, and turned to look, and there it was...a very young, very cute rabbit! He even stayed around long enough for me to take a couplle of pictures of him!
