| Two Short Stories From Denny Grossman 10/11/2002 |
| In the 6th grade at Edison Murray "Dick" Mardis and I dressed up as girls for Halloween day at school. Pat Brooks and Phyllis Kinsfather were in our class and came up to us and said they hadn't met us before and asked us our names. They both graduated with us at Burroughs. In 1982 my wife and I and another couple went on a 10 day Caribean cruise. They had a costume party night so with my wife's help I dressed up as a girl. I knew one of the judges and she didn't even recognize that it was me. I wanted to win and heard that on cruises that single women were picked up a lot. I printed a big card sign and hung it around my neck with it on my back. It said "Last available virgin on the SS Fairwind" The cruise had mostly older people on it and I don't think it was as funny as I hoped. I got 2nd. prize. Denny |
