By 1970, we came to the realization the owning mass quantities of anything was a little nuts and started replacing a few of the Hudsons with other makes and models. We decided to give our collection a theme. Being that we already had the Hudson Italia, which was considered to be an American Sports Car, we decided to build around it. The first diversion was 55-57 Thunderbirds. We had several and Deanna even drove one to work. It wasn't long before that practice was deemed impractical. We finally settled on Mustangs as our main mode of transportation which to today we still continue to drive. She has a 67 Convt and I have two 67 fastbacks. We also have a 65 fastback as a backup.
1949 Mercury Coupe has nothing to do with the collection, but I would have given my eye tooth for one in HS so have one now. It is also a driver which we keep in our garage up in Big Bear.

1952 Muntz is my favorite car. This specimen was restored by my son and myself from a very neglected car we bought for $50. The car was found to have been the first overhead valve equipped car. Muntz built 198 of these cars. Most belonged to VIP's or those that perceived themselves to be.
