Fred Roth's Classic Cars
High School was really the Genesis of all my hobbies. The cars got started
when I was forced to buy a Hudson to have a car with the fenders all the way
back, since a Ford was 50% higher in price. After many successful nutrition
drag races and a bit of teasing about my choice of transportation, I became
obsessed with Hudsons. Our second one was bought in 1960 for $125.00 as a
second car for my wife to use student teaching. It turned out to be so good,
that it became our primary car and we even took it on out honeymoon. We
traded that car for the 54 Hudson Convertible that we still own today. I have
owned a total of 31 Hudsons to date but only have two left.

Our 1954 Hudson Convertible is one of our oldest restorations. We do
still drive this car. I did the paint, mechanical & body work while my wife
did the entire interior. Hudson only built 200 of these cars.
Here are the two Hudsons I still own in the driveway of my home
This is a professional photo taken for a national publication of the
Italia. Hudson built 26 of these cars, 20 still exist. We restored this from
a fairly decent car and it is considered the top one in the country. It was
sold new in Van Nuys, Calif. Body is aluminum and built
by Touring of Milano, Italy.
Here is the Italia at an indoor show in Palm Springs. It has won several
Best of Show trophies and numerous best in class awards as well as a couple
of styling awards.
