Our annual visit to Colorado for Christmas was once again a fun time. The days were filled with all the activities associated with the holidays. Ian and Hayden made their traditional Gingerbread House. Each year the finished product gets better and better, as you can see. We went to Target to pick out gifts from Aunt Elaine. Hayden chose a Furry Friend and Ian got an I-Dog.
Ian's half of the Gingerbread House. Great detail on the front.
Hayden's half of the Gingerbread House. Can you see the Reindeer heads on the roof?
As with all youngsters these days, Ian and Hayden are very proficient using the internet. Here they are using Mom's computer but they actually have their own laptop.
One morning we all spent quite a bit of time talking to Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Barry over the internet. Hayden and Ian love "Skyping" people, and Nana loves being Skyped.
On the Saturday before Christmas Ian tried out for the junior team associated with the local professional indoor Lacrosse team, the Mammoths. He played very well and even scored a goal, but didn't make the cut. He was probably one of the youngest and smallest to try out but that didn't stop him from doing his best.
Hayden and Nana spent the Saturday before Christmas attending the Nutcracker, performed by the Denver Ballet. It was an outstanding production and we both enjoyed it thoroughly.
Scenes from Christmas morning. In front of a warm fire the kids opened their gifts from Santa and family. Some of Hayden's favorite presents were a deer skin from Santa and an American Girl doll from Nana and PopPop. Ian especially liked the electric circuit kit from Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Barry and the Rip Stick from Nana and PopPop. Emily loved the purse from England. And everyone got I-Pods from Grandma and Granddad Baldwin.
