Ronnie Van Zandt
.....and this bird you cannot change!!
Ronnie's musical interest first centered around playing his father's guitars and piano, but then Ronnie found that forntman suited him best. In early '64, Ronnie heard a group was looking for a forntman so he tried out and got it, after he had landed his first gig Ronnie met Gary Rossington and Bob Burns. Later the three decided to make some music together and Lynyard Skynyard was born.
The pilot who was flying the plane radioed that the aircraft was dangerously low on fuel. Less than ten minutes late, the plave crashed into a densely wooded thicket in the middle of a swap. The crach killed Ronnie Van Zandt along with guitarist Steve Gaines, Vocalist Cassie Gaines and road manager Dean Kil[atrick, the rest of the band and crew were seriously injured.
