| J.P. Richardson was a disc jocky who tryed writing songs but failed at first, but then under The Big Bopper his disc jocky name he wrote and recorded the #1 hit Chantilly lace. He blew up the stage with that song and many others the had written. |
| J.P.'s fame had come to an end when he walked up to Buddy Holly's bass player Waylon Jennings and asked for his seat on the plane so he could get some rest, Jenning agreed and gave him the seat. The weather was a nuisance for the pilot, and the plane plummeted to the ground 8 miles after it's takeoff, killing everyone on board. J.P. Richardson was only 28 when he died. |
