Being involved in the scene
since 1983, It's safe to say that I've collected a few tapes here and there. I've been
trading off and on for almost 20 years now, the list will speak for itself. I'm talking demo's, live tapes, old out of print records as well as a
ton of records from this era. Basically, I cover most factions of punk rock: from traditional
punk to hardcore and everything in between; straight-edge, crust, political and a little
emo. I am a little weak on international stuff, but am strong on American and UK, not due
to taste, 'cause I love it all. Strong suits are Nardcore, SoCal, NoCal,
Boston, New York and UK. Old Hardcore, Stenchcore or Peace Punk,
Crustcore, Powerviolence, whatever you want to call it, I'm in pretty
deep between the years of 1983-1994 or so. |
Why I trade:
I trade for two reasons: (1) Being that I
can never have enough recordings, it's an obsessive-compulsive thing. (2) I
want to share my recordings with others: When I got into punk, I was called a poseur
by many. Who wasn't? However, there's always people out there that realize
that you're intentions are good and that you just need guidance getting into the scene.
You pick & choose along the way, sponging off of friends, enemies &
mentors. Eventually, though you can't pin down when it actually happens, you become
a legitimate punk with your own values and your own ideals. In a nutshell, I am
trying to give back to the scene what I've gotten from it over the years.
Rules:
I know what you're thinking...."this is a
punk site, fuck the rules!!" Well, there's still a type of
etiquette that can apply...
You've got to have a list!!
I'm not going to guess what tapes you have. Although, just 'cause you have a
list doesn't mean that I'm necessarily going to find a lot that I need. I'm to the point
where I've gotten pretty selective, but don't let that scare you. In
my old age, I've expanded past punk so don't be afraid to scare me off
with Reggae, Blues, Jazz etc....
Got No List? I do get people that
have found something on my list that they haven't heard
in a long time. Usually I work something out for them, so I can probably do the
same for you. Send me a couple of bucks or an extra blank
tape (along with the blank tape that you want the recording on) and I will burn a
copy for you and send it back using the Self Addressed Stamped Envelope
that you send me.
You send the tapes first.
Trust me!! As soon as I get the tapes, I will start burning your's and get
them out within a week, usually. See my feedback link.
Only send the cassettes.
I don't need the j-cards (I make my own) and I
don't wan't to pay for the postage of sending the extra cases. Hold on to your
covers and I will hold on to mine.
Track List is a must. I
understand if a few of your recordings don't have track lists, just do the best you can.
Write it down separately or send it to me via email. Or you
can make your own j-card.
Complete recordings only.
If I ask for a compilation album, I want the whole thing, no matter how shitty some
of the bands are. Plan ahead when taping, try not to carry one album from one tape to
another. Don't care if an album goes from Side A
to Side B, sometimes that's unavoidable, just try not to if you can....
International Tape Trades Are a 5 Tape
Minimum. If you're not in North America, it's going to cost me a bundle to
mail these things, it's not that I'm a nationalist and don't want to trade with
foriegners, I just don't have the extra money to spend ten dollars to send a couple tapes.
It's just not worth it unless we do a big trade.

I'm sure that there's something on my list that
you've been dying to hear, I'm not a top-ten punk listener, so you won't find much Green
Day or stuff like that. I took a plunge off of the high dive when I got into
hardcore. You can say that I spent several years swimming in the murky depths of the punk
scene. |
