Habitat

Once found throughout most of Africa and through the middle east to Java, they are still common in some parts of central and east Africa and some parts of Asia. In India it prefers to live near villages where it feeds on dogs, goats, calves, and chickens. Around the Kariba Lake of Zambia they catch fish.
