I am a Jazz Singer, who also enjoys singing Barbra Streisand songs, old classics as well as some show tunes.
I am presently in the process of putting together a cd with my brother at his home studio and I see this happening this year.
I do enjoy singing with live musicians, and always on the look out for musicians who would like to accompany me. I have had the pleasure of singing with Paul Stouffer and Andy Klein, jazz pianist and saxophone player, Tim Louis, jazz musician, and had an opportunity to jam with Mel Brown, Blues singer. That was a lot of fun.
I recently performed in a jazz musical in the Kitchener/Waterloo area called "Aint Misbehavin", (a Fats Waller musical), and the three performances were truly sensational, we even got standing ovations. This was a lot of hard work, difficult harmonizing, but well worth the effort.
Now I can add to my resume performing in Bubbling Brown Sugar (a broadway musical) in Feb. 2008. What a wonderful experience. (click on link above for pics).
Well it's July 2008 and I finally have my first CD "Cry Me A River". I am excited and anxious as to how it will be received. Click on the link above and you can hear a few samples from the CD.
I have also sung the National Anthem at the Multicultural Festival in Kitchener as well as the Naismith basket ball games at the University of Waterloo. Also performed in a chorus for the King and I at the Centre in the Square, and sung at the Kitchener City Hall opening ceremonies, and a number of coffee houses at UW and private functions.
