Directions To Your Soulmate

Five years of searching leading you from sunny roads to darkened alleys
From four way lanes to dead ends on one way streets
All this circular motion has played with my deepest emotions
On my knees saying my usual prayer for my soulmate to appear
At night in my dreams I see the house, great career the face on the guy is still unclear
I try to see wipe hard but it leaves a big smear
Loneliness and old age is my biggest fear
Is there something wrong with being independent and having a career?
Could it be a woman's power is what a man fears?
Is it the strength in our eyes, the confidence in our stride that causes relationships not to rise?
Some of us have looked high...others low to find something that could be unknown
When will we find that road that leads us to that someone?
Will we be in the mall? At church? Down the hall? Or at a stadium watching football?
Will he yell out your name with a mighty call?
Will he be right under your nose with a single red rose?
Will he wear a sign with your name on it?
Why can't God just give us a little tip?
Until that day we must continue to pray like we do everyday
And keep the faith that our soulmate is on his way!

One Love
