This is gonna be really awkward to keep brief cos I'm a big fan of Prince above anything else!
One of the most diverse and amazing performers ever! Ranging in music styles (but you can't beat da funk!)
When he first came on the scene he performed as a guest at a Rollings Stones gig and was booed off stage. Maybe this was cos of his erratic clothing... (black bikini brief things and big thigh high boots!)
Prince was most famous around the time of Purple Rain (which I like but thinks overated as an album) this co-incided with a film of the same name and created a sort of Prince mania. he responded with another film Under The Cherry Moon, which didn't do too well.
Princes success died down after he changed his name to the symbol. He also mae another film Graffiti Bridge which went straight to video in the UK. Though he still made albums during this period he didn't really come back into the fray until The Best of: Prince came out (his old record company decided on this). At the same time his album Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic came out but this didn't recieve much success either.
Currently his new album Musicology has been very well recieved and shows a descention into his more funkier days!
