The show stars the Griffins which include: Brian(the intelligent talking dog), Peter (the dopey father), Lois (the familys backbone), Meg (the stereotypical teenage daughter), Chris (the stupid eldest boy) and Stewie (a baby transfixed with killing his mother and dominating the world, he is also extremely intelligent e.g. when he made a satelite to control weather in order to destroy broccoli!)
Further credible characters include Joe Swanson their handicapped neighbour and friend, Cleveland (Peter's black friend (inv. in an especially funny episode where Peter discovers he is 'black') and Quagmire a notorious perve.
Fantastic program, absolutely hilarious with great characters and crazy scenarios. Has had Death star in it on afew occasions (you ever got to meet his mum!) also you've got nudists and the funniest ever interpretation of William Shatner!
