Bagpuss
The greatest series ever made that is dedicated to the life and works of a cloth cat.

This great series starred...

Bagpuss who despite having been credited to the extent of having the show named after him never had an overly important role, and was content mainly to sit and listen to stories and singing by his friends- that came to life as he did.
Professor Yaffle- a wooden bird bookend that laughed thusly "neyh neyh neyh neyh"
Madeleine- a rag doll that told stories and sang along with Gabriel the toad that could play a Banjo. The Mice are really the star players here with their Marvelous Mechanical Mouse Organ. There were six mice in the series.

Emily's chant to the Baggiest Saggiest cat around...
"Bagpuss, dear Bagpuss
Old fat furry cat-puss
Wake up and look at this thing that I bring
Wake up, be bright
Be golden and light
Bagpuss, Oh hear what I sing"

Bagpuss was first shown in 1974 and only thirteen episodes were made.

I think the greatest episode is 'The Mouse Mill' where the Mice make chocolate biscuits... of course :oS
