| Neil Hannon is THE Divine Comedy. He was born in Londonderry, Nothern Island 07/11/1970. He has two brothers. Hannon began learning the piano at the age of 7. In 1993 he was signed to Setana Records. He appeared as non-smoking refined gentlemen, as this was best fitting to his music. He was described by Time Out Magazine as an "orchestral alchemist" One of the Divine Comedy's first TV appearances was on TFI Friday presented by Chris Evans, 1996. It was this year also that he wrote music for the sitcom Father Ted (his song "Songs of Love" has an extract from the theme of the program). In 1999 he married Orla Little, he then bought his first car and house. 19/12/2001 he became a father, his daughters name is Willow Mary Erin. Neil Hannon is top musician for me (alongside Prince). Hannon is musical viagra! Sweet melodys, great lyrics and a lovely deep haunting singing voice. I was going to suggest some songs by him but feel I may have to think about this as its a difficult decision! *NOTES* Fondness for literature, the band's name itself is after the classical literature Dante's 'Divine Comedy.' Albums Fanfare for the Comic Muse (1990) Liberation (1993) Promenade (1994) Casanova (1996) A Short Album About Love (1997) Fin De Siecle (1998) A Secret History (1999) Regeneration (2001) |
