Recount a childhood toy or game. Describe the feelings or memories you associate with it.

When I was little, I had a huge collection of Barbie’s and a lot of different outfits for them. I used to play with them all the time, always thinking that my life would end up to be perfect just like theirs. I wanted to be like Barbie with a perfect body, clothes, hair and Barbie’s boyfriend, Ken. Now that I think about it, Barbie can have a negative influence that they should be like Barbie. For example, they will think that they have to be skinny so they will be just like her. This is actually a bad influence.

Introduction class to argument essay:  Why should standardized tests be abolished?

I feel that standardized tests such as the regents should be abolished. I think that it puts too much pressure on students. Grades should be based on a student’s class work and regular test grades. Standardized tests gets students really nervous so they may not do as well as on a normal test that they would receive in class.

It is also unfair because New York is the one of the only states that requires this, and if you were to go to another state or even a private school in New York they are not required to take them. So why does New York and only a few other states have tests such as these?

3rd person descriptions using human attributes.

Boredom sits in the classroom, daydreaming about the weekend, thinking of other things such as what they want to eat after school. Boredom watches the clock tick slowly, but it stills seems like it has been the same time for a lifetime. Boredom puts their head on the desk and closes his or her eyes just waiting. He or she looks up to see that everyone in the classroom is writing while he/she is in a state of confusion. He takes another glance at the clock, the bell rings. Boredom has left.
