Spider Man's Dream Room

Its just another summer day. I wake up, eat breakfast, then go straight to my neighbor's house. My neighbor, Selli, has been my best friend probably since the day I was born. Our families have grown close as well. I walk up Selli's driveway, clearly making an effort not to step on her grass so I do no upset her dad. I ring Selli's doorbell. I will always remember hearing the tune of the doorbell. It was one of those doorbells that played a short tune of a song. Selli's house is one of those houses that have a smell. Selli's house always smelled like home made cooking mixed with clean laundry. Her dad answers the door, "good morning Jasmine, she's in the computer room." I run up the stairs and I pass by her brother, Avi, who could always be found in the den watching television. I run straight down to the computer room, to see what crazy adventures we would have today.

"So Selli, what are we gonna do?" For some reason, as soon as I said that, Selli and I looked at each other, then looked towards the room where Avi was and we both began hysterically laughing. This basically means that there will be some kind of mischief. Selli ran up the steps to her room, and I followed. Selli's dad began to yell at us, "no running in the house!" We began to pace her room. As if we were thinking of a solution to a big problem. We were on a mission: To get Avi angry. It's what Selli and I did best!

Selli's room was always messy. She had clothes and all different stuff all over her floor. Then, I noticed her foot kick a ball of thick string. I picked it up and began throwing it around the room. Selli grabbed my arm. "I have an idea," she said. Whenever the words 'I have an idea' come out of her mouth, it means trouble!

We walk across the hallway of her house and all I could think of was what she would do. She took some scotch tape, taped the start of the string on Avi's wall, and continued it to the other side of the wall. "What are you doing? You are going to get in trouble. If your mom finds out we'll..." and she stopped me. "Watch Jasmine. Its easy!" I was always the one to be scared that we would get in trouble. As I watched her tape the string to all four sides of the wall, I began to laugh. I picked up the other ball of string and took the some scotch tape from her and followed along. We put the strings on each end of the room over and over for an hour and a half.

"Avi! Come upstairs. You can leave your cartoons for a little while. We have a surprise a surprise for you!." Selli glanced at me and began laughing. After a while of persuading Avi to leave the television, he came upstairs. We took a bandana and blindfolded him. "Avi, wait right here." We pushed Avi to the entrance of his room. As we opened the door, Avi took off the bandana from his eyes and Selli and I screamed "surprise!" Avi looked mad. "What did you guys do to my room? I'm telling." A tear began to fall down his face. I felt terrible.

I said to Avi, "look! You can pretend that your spider man!" Avi looked at the brighter side of his crazy looking room. He began crawling through the string as if he was trapped in a jungle. I knew he was happy because I saw his eye light up with excitement. I was glad Avi was happy, even though our mission was to get him angry.

About twenty minutes later of Avi enjoying his room, Selli's mom walks into the bedroom. "What did you do to your room? Clean this up right now!" Selli and I had to apologize to Avi about his room. Selli's mom took us to Avi and made sure we apologized by witnessing it herself. Selli and I recited "I'm sorry Avi." Selli's mom looked at us as if we were supposed to do something else. I glanced back at Selli in confusion. "For?" Selli's mom was implying. "We are sorry for messing up your room." Avi simply replied with "its okay."

Although Selli and my intentions were bad, we deep down care for Avi. I consider him to be my little brother also. We were glad that he enjoyed his twenty minute spider man jungle, as we liked to call it. As I care so much for this family, I will always have so much love for them.
