Washington DC

DC

I got into SFO around 2pm and then showered, packed, did laundry and then went back to the airport again to catch my flight out to DC. It was a red eye. I flew Virgin Atlantic which was really cool. I miss HK shows at that point and they had them on TV so that was an extra coolness.

I got into DC at 6am. I took the super shuttle ($30) from Dulles to my hotel at the DoubleTree. http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/WASDTDT-Doubletree-Hotel-Washington-DC-District-of-Columbia/index.do. I had to drop off my luggage and my mission was to check out the museums. So I went ahead and bought the day pass not knowing that it is effective only starting 930am. Argh!! I paid $8.00 for it too and I dont think I used that much of it. What a waste.

The funniest thing happen when the hotel clerk said my roommate had already checked in so she gave me the key to the room. Only to have the room locked with a male voice saying he wont let me into the room. I went back downstairs and it turns out it was the guest from before. Whooops.

I loved DoubleTrees chocolate chip cookie and tempurdic bed.

I ventured out to Natural museum of history and the national art gallery. I also wanted to go to Chinatown but I ended up not going because my diarrhea spell was hurting again. I knew I shouldnt have eaten but I did. I almost pooed in the pants. I bought my self some immodium and Gatorade. I think I bought 4 bottles. The next two days was the conference from 8-430pm.

I got two good contacts, I met some professionals I would like to be in touch with in the future.

At night time, I thought I was going to spend time with the people I met but I ended up going to Chinatown to check it out but to find it being very small. Only two streets. I didnt even eat there and it started pouring. IT was HOT and sticky. Ugh.

I ended up with S at Caf Asia. Hung out at Ss house afterwards.

The next day was conference time again. Then I went with S to this Steak Place. S said this was a special place and being in DC I had to try it. I thought it was just Ok.

I have high standards :P

Georgetown was really nice. It also started raining again.

The last day, I left around noon. S picked me up for the airport and then I had 3 hours to hang around at Dulles. I was bored out of my mind.

Im just glad to be home! Conferences are fun, I should do more of it only if it was all expense paid like this one :P 1
