Pedi Nurse Vicky was saying she wanted someone to go to BKK with her while her brother is still over there for work. He took three months to go diving in Ko Tao before heading back to the states. She invited me to tag a long with her so I did. It's not like very frequent I get to go trips and I love to travel so why not?!! Yay. We finally got tickets to go. We flew Cathay Pacific (my very first time) but I thought the service was okay. I want to travel by business class next time for long flights. IT was $1000 for RT tickets and then we flew Bangkok air to Koh Samui which is a makeshift airport out in open air.

D dropped me off at the airport after I bought some Outback takeout. We chowed down and then D drove my car to SFO. I left with my car with D b/c D has a garage and it's a pain to park in the city with street cleaning. Thank you! :) Flight was at midnight. IT took 25 hours travelling, waiting, landing time to get there. It was crazy.

Day 1: Chaweng Villa Resort. Let me tell you, it's so different. It's not a third world country but it's humid, hot and open air everything!! It's a beach resort area and some people say it has clean beaches. I thought it was okay. I dont think it was pristine clean. A lot of tourists, esp Europeans. We met one girl from SF and another retired couple from Aspen. We chilled that night. Eat at the beach front, watched tv, walked around town looking for diesel jeans! lol.

Called it a night and the next day I think we ran on the beach and sunbathe after breakfast. I didn't want to eat anything open air (afraid of bird flu and such). I ate it anyways -- durian, jackfruit, pomelo, watermelon, guava.

We went zip lininig. I was so scared. Island safari elephant trekking, monkey show, cannoeing on the ban thale river, riding in the back of pick up trucks. Hearing cars drive by on narrow streets saying, "thai boxing, the best of the best, champ of the champ. tonight tonight..."

Bought thai silks scarves, chocolates, imitations birkenstocks, inner wear ;), shirt, went street market shopping in BKK.

We went to Rai Rai resort spa. It was okay. I liked the street massages more. $7/hour. So cheap! Sleazy european men with thai girls.

BKK was nice and slum like as well. I ate street food and all in all..a good time with Vicky. I wanted to stay at the Davis Hotel but we stayed at the Novotol instead. I'm glad we are home. rode a BMW 5 series to go to the airport. sweet.

Alice came to pick us up at the airport then went to DC to pick up my car. Yay. Then I went straight to class. Dude...I got a cough, phlegm, raspy voice from this trip. Tons of bug bites..... then i really didnt want to go back to work. I took one day off out of the three days...of work. all good..now.

I wanted to visit the grand palace or go to the jim thompson house but i didnt'.

in bkk, i went to Rmk buliding. mambo lady boy show in sukimvit road. it was 1500 bahts i think.

street food was $3.00. so cheap!
