I decided to take the opportunity to visit Colorado with Melanie and Bertha (since they know the area, and know the SYZ girls over there. We booked our ticket with Frontier airlines $208 including tax RT. Not bad huh?
Our flight left SFO to Denver. Of course once I arrive, we took a bus to the rental car pick up area Enterprise and then I started getting woozy. Although it's only 3,000 feet above sea level, I was kinda feeling light headed and I told Ber to drive.
It took forever to get to destination A to B. We drove to Boulder that evening to meet up with Mel's little, Dao. We stayed at her spacious home and then went to a chain restaurant (Texas Road house BBQ) for dinner. I got the steak kebob with rice. I really (at that point) didn't feel really well. After dinner, we went back to her place and she opened a present from Mel. Sweet huh? I said I was gonna go off to bed b/c at that point I was feeling numb, nauseated, stomache was hurting (I got my menses and food diahhrea from a few days before). I think I most of lost 5 lbs just being sick for the week. Of course now that I write this entry, I have already gained all my weight back. Blah. I am excercising a new routine taught by my co-worker. Anyways back to Colorado. I slept in her brother's room and then during the middle of the night I was feeling hot, cold, hot, cold. I drank water and I began feeling like I couldnt breathe (thin air alert). I woke up in the morning which seem like a big hangover. I literally could not pick up my lugguage or walk down the stairs or even attempt to shower but I did.
We drove to Cherry creek for brunch and ate at Paradise cafe. It was alright, it was a chain. Everything is really modern and white here. Contemporary is also the word I am looking for. A lot of mountain bikers. I've been called/nicknamed "Eagle Eye" b/c I see signs better than B and M. Hehe. We rented a Ford Focus btw.
I think after that we went to Celestial Seasoning's tour around Boulder. I had to take my obligatory photo there because I was nicknamed that. We also went to Haystacks Goat Cheese Farm (which I found on Sunset magazine). We saw goats and saw them giving birth.
Then we went to Pearl Street and this 4th street place? or 12th street place to walk around and ate at Panera bread (THey got a quiche, I got another soup diet).
At that point, I was feeling WAY better. We then went to the Boulder campus and met some of the SYZ girls there. Way overwhelming. I haven't done any SYZ thing in ages. They were all wearing black, getting ready for the semi formal dinner at Dolans or something like that. The food was horrible. I had to pay $36 for that meal. Ugh.
Saw the new girls and then went down to Pearl Street at night and went to some bar/pub place to eat nachos, chillis and drink beer.
In the morning we woke up (stayed with another girl that night) and we ate pho. It was pretty good. Then we drove back to campus, walked around on Pearl street, and then drove into Denver to have dinner. Downtown is pretty dead I think.
We met up with B's friend and we ate at a local chain/fast food place that served burger. I Finally got my frozen custard. It was aiite.
We went to the airport at night and then took the flight home. It was quick and fun trip with the girls. I didn't buy anything. We did check out the crocs shop and I think I am so famliar with the Denver airport now.
I was there for IND layover.
Houses are spacious and cheap. I am not sure if the weather is for me though.
