I joined the Corps in October 2000, and left in February 2001. After boot camp, went to the School of Infantry, and then on to Basic Security Guard School, in Cheasapeake, VA. Was assigned to the 2nd Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team. Spent two years and three missions there, going to CQB and Designated Marksman school. After my tour there was up, was reassigned to the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, in 29 Palms, CA. Deployed to Okinawa in January 2004 after attending and completing Stability and Support Operations Instructor Course and then went to Iraq.
My squad, Lima Company 1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, (L1-3) spent time at Ammunition Supply Point Wolf, Al Asad, and was handpicked to clear the building that became the battalion forward headquarters when we went into Fallujah in April 2004. Spent a month in that resort town and then went back to Al Asad. The truck my squad and I was riding in was blown up on May 21, 2004 and I was evacuated back to the States. Now it's time to get out and move on with my life.
