Honor

When I was a child
I spoke and thought
as a child.
Now I am a man
presented with the problems
of speaking and thinking
like a man.
As a child
honor was something
the Bible spoke of
in regard to your mother and father.
As a man,
honor is something sacred,
not to be violated by
childish behavior.
With each childish act,
honor becomes more diminished.
Leave childish ways to
children.
Act and live with honor.
