| Who is "jazzjm"? |
- First of all, let me explain what 'jazzjm' means. Well, 'j' and 'm' are my initials (standing for Jim Manousos) and the 'jazz' part is a joke about my state of mind (at least I hope it's just a joke). Just a nick-name or a user-name, so simple. - I am Greek and live in Greece, as most Greeks do. This site is in English because (a) I didn't want to limit the visitors to Greeks, (b) most Greeks speak English anyway and (c) lazy me still hasn't found the time to make a Greek version (sorry people, it may take a while but I will).
- Photography, for me, has always been one of those magical things that I wanted to get to understand and, hopefully, be able to serve. Durring 1999, I managed to use some of my free time to get a first glimpse of what this art form is about, by means of reading some literature and practising a little bit. I hope I never stop learning. - Most of the photos in this collection where shot with a humble, full-manual 'Zenit 122' with a 50mm lens. A little bit slow to use but able to produce some really good results. - Later on, as the 'Zenit' got older, it started giving me trouble. Now, I mainly use a 'Minolta 7000' with a 50mm and a 70-210mm zoom lens. A fairly good piece of equipment except for the auto-focus function, which is absolutely useless. - There are other aspects to my life as well, but my guess is that you didn't come here to read about those. If you did, sorry for the disappointment. - That's all folks.> |
