| Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity |
| I was initiated in the Gamma Upsilon chapter (University of West Florida) of Delta Omicron as a charter member of that chapter in the fall of 1997. I was the 1st vice president. The following year, I was elected president. Upon graduation (and marriage), I moved to South Dakota, where I was the Alumni-at-Large chair for the state... albeit the few of us there were up there! I taught elementary music and choir, middle school band, and even high school flags! Three wonderful years later, my husband received his orders to come to Texas, where I currently reside. I let Delta Omicron know that I was now in Texas, what could I do to help out?? Next thing I know, I am appointed as Nu Province President and on my way to conference! The first thing that comes to mind now... why didn't I do this sooner? I have only recently been appointed to this position, but I have met some of the most wonderful people in music already! If you are a music major.... you should consider Delta Omicron as an option. Not only are we tons of fun, we do great service projects locally and nationally. |
